2015 ELECTIONS: No Position Is Worth Dying For – Governor Uduaghan
Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, has counseled political gladiators in Nigeria that no elective position is worth a human life.
He therefore called on the leaders to refrain from bitterness, inciting statements and violence acts as the country prepares for another round of election next year.
Uduaghan, who spoke at the weekend in Asaba during a programme tagged, “An Evening with the First Family”, told politicians that since power only belongs to God and no man, they must be ready to accept His plans.
“It is good to have political ambition, but remember that God gives power to whom He pleases. If you contest any political position and it did not work out, accept it as the will of God and God’s plan for you. He may have better plans for you in future”, he said.
“No political position is worth dying for and we should not encourage any person to die for our political aspirations. Remember, we will be held accountable for our actions and inactions in this world when we die“.
The Governor further charged all Nigerians, to love and care for one another, adding that “if we do, we will not harm each other either with physical arms or with our tongues”.
