APC UGHELLI NORTH CONGRESS SIGNALS NEW DAWN OF UNITY AND RENEWAL

The atmosphere at Oharisi Primary School in Ughelli was charged with energy and anticipation as party leaders, stakeholders, and grassroots members converged for the Ughelli North Local Government Area Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC). It was not merely a routine political gathering; it was a defining moment of transition, renewal, and reaffirmation of party unity at the grassroots level.

From the early hours of the day, loyal party faithful trooped into the venue, reflecting the vibrancy and growing strength of the APC in Ughelli North. The congress proceeded in an orderly and transparent manner, underscoring the party’s commitment to constitutionalism and internal democracy.

A significant highlight of the event was the formal motion to dissolve the outgoing Ward and LGA Executives, whose tenure had constitutionally expired. The motion, moved and duly adopted, symbolized both closure and continuity — closure for one phase of leadership and continuity for the party’s evolving democratic journey. The outgoing executives were warmly commended for their dedication, sacrifices, and steadfast service, which helped stabilize and reposition the party structure across the eleven wards of the local government.

In line with established procedures, newly elected Ward Executives from the eleven wards were formally announced to enthusiastic applause. This was followed by the election of the new LGA Executives, a process that reflected consensus-building, unity, and shared purpose among stakeholders.

Emerging at the helm of the new leadership is Comrade Lucky Ofomukoro, who was elected as the LGA Party Chairman. His emergence was widely celebrated as a product of collective trust and confidence in his capacity to lead the party to greater heights. Alongside him, the newly elected Ward and LGA Executives now carry the responsibility of consolidating the party’s gains, strengthening grassroots mobilization, and expanding APC’s influence across Ughelli North.

With the successful conclusion of the congresses, attention now shifts from internal restructuring to forward-looking political engagement. Party leaders emphasized the need for unity, discipline, and strategic organization as members align with the broader national and state development vision.

The congress reaffirmed strong support for the Renewed Hope agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the MORE Agenda of Sheriff Francis Oborevwori. For party faithful in Ughelli North, the task ahead is clear: to translate renewed internal cohesion into effective grassroots governance support, community engagement, and sustained political dominance.

As the dust settles at Oharisi Primary School, one message resonates clearly, the APC in Ughelli North has renewed its structure, refreshed its leadership, and repositioned itself for the future. The congress was not just about electing new officers; it was about reinforcing unity, strengthening democratic culture, and charting a progressive course for the party and the people it seeks to serve.
