Governor Oborevwori Constitutes Governing Councils for Three Delta State Universities

 

The Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, has approved the constitution of Governing Councils for three state-owned universities in the state.

The affected institutions are the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor; Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba; and Southern Delta University (SDU).

University of Delta, Agbor

The Governing Council is chaired by Prof. Victor Peretomode as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, with Rear Admiral Peter I. Eluma; Prof. Mrs. Ebele Egwunyega; Dr. Roland Oritsejafor; Mrs. Joy Enwa; Prof. Ben Oghojafor; and Prof. Patrick Oromareghake as members.

Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba

Prof. Patrick Muoboghare will serve as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council. Other members are Dr. Christopher Onyemenam; Chief Elmina V. Namah; Prof. Jacob Oboreh; Dr. Mrs. Josephine Konyeme; Dr. Mrs. Philomena Imonivewerha; and Prof. Rowell Ubogu.

Southern Delta University

The Governing Council of Southern Delta University will be chaired by Chief Godson Echegile as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman. Other members are Prof. Benedict Binebai; Surv. Mrs. Felicia Omatsola; Prof. Stella Chiemeke; Dr. Tosan Luck Popo; Prof. William Ehwarieme; and Prof. Mrs. Regina Arisi.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, the state government said the inauguration of the newly constituted Governing Councils would be announced in due course.

The constitution of the councils is expected to strengthen governance, oversight and institutional leadership across the three state-owned universities.
