The
Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has said that his
administration will wholeheartedly depend on God's guidance in the midst of
challenging times.
Governor
Okowa was speaking today when he granted audience to the President of ILCOM
College of Bishops, Archbishop John Praise Daniel at the Government House
Asaba.
According
to the governor “The reason for the early morning 30minutes devotion and
worship at the Government House Chapel is to invite God to order our steps as
we strive to improve the lots of pur people”.
While
reminding the visiting Bishop and other official members of his delegation on
the need for the christian community to continue to pray to God on behalf of
those in authority, particularly against the myriads of societal challenges
adding that the words from the pulpit have enormous capacity to inspire hope
even in the midst of uncertainty.
He
stressed the imperative of a strong partnership between government and the
church, while noting that such collaboration is capable of promoting good
governance and moving the state forward.
Governor
Okowa expressed concern about the prevalent of worshipers who now thronged the
church in search of miracles as against the quest for salvation.
“Let me be very clear that miracle is important but salvation should come first in Christendom”.

Earlier,
Archbishop John Praise Daniel told the governor that they were in the
Government House to pray for the success and unity of the state and the Federal
government.
Bishop
Praise who said he is pleased with the disposition of Governor Okowa as a man
that has enormous passion for God, prayed God to continually inspire the
Governor to lead the State of greater heights
