GOVERNOR OKOWA RECONSTITUTES DELTA STATE TRADITIONAL RULERS COUNCIL

The Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has inaugurated the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council with a charge on traditional rulers to ensure they continue to maintain peace and harmonious coexistence among the people. 
The Governor urged the traditional rulers to use their positions to wipe out crime and avoid any action that will amount to providing cover for criminals. He urged them to cultivate the healthy habit of mutual love and respect for one another in the society.
He appealed to members of the traditional rulers’ council in the State to wade into the numerous communal clashes in the state with a view to resolving them.
The newly inaugurated council has the Obi of Owa HRM Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor II, as Chairman while the Orodje of Okpe HRM Felix Mujakperuo, Orhue I, and the Pere of Akugbene Kingdom as 1st and 2nd Vice Chairmen while Mr Alfred Origho will serve as Secretary.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the Chairman of the Council, Obi Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor thanked the governor for finding them fit and proper to serve in the council. He assured that traditional rulers in the state will continue to ensure peace in their domains.
The occasion which held at the Unity Hall, Government House Asaba was attended by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, Majority Leader, Hon. Tim Owhefere,State Chief Judge, Justice Marshal Umukoro, Head of Service, Mr Reginald Reginald Bayoko and other top government functionaries.
