In a bid to prevent possible breakdown of law and order involving Fulani cattle herdsmen, Emmanuel Uduaghan, Delta State Governor has set up a taskforce on control of the movement of cattle into and within the state.
The taskforce was inaugurated today by Uduaghan at the Government House Annex in Warri.
Uduaghan described the setting up of the Taskforce as a proactive step to deter the growing cases of hostility between Cattle Rearers and Farmers.
He said the taskforce has the Office of the Secretary to the State Government as its secretariat. The Taskforce which is to be headed by the State Commissioner of Police, has two members of the State House of Assembly, two commissioners, representatives of security agencies, traditional rulers, council chairmen and the northern community
