The result of the Paper Pencil Test (PPT) and Dual Based Test (DBT) of the 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted last Saturday, has been released by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

 
It was learnt that out of over one million (1,015,504) candidates that sat for the exam nationwide, only 24 candidates scored 250 and above. Further look at the results indicate 315,401 candidates scored between 170 to 199 points, while 108,488 candidates scored between 200 to 249 points.
According to the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, 36,164 students had their results invalidated and 2,494 others withheld by the board, while 37, 315 candidates were absent.

He said 275, 282 candidates scored below 150 points, 122,159 scored between 150 to 159 points while 115,456 scored 160 to 169 points in the PPT mode.

Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated a 12-member Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy (PACPM), tasked with recommending individuals eligible for presidential pardons from criminal convictions. The committee, chaired by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, was inaugurated on Wednesday. It has a four-year tenure and includes members drawn from various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), as well as representatives from religious bodies and four eminent Nigerians. GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI APPOINTS OSEJI AS DELTA HEAD OF SERVICE

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Minimim Oseji as the new Head of Service. Her appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Reginald Bayoko, who served in the position for nearly nine years. Dr. Oseji, a medical doctor, was previously the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and had also served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health.
