Dr. Uduaghan, Others Pay Homage As Olu Celebrates 27 On Throne

WARRI, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, CON, Governor of Delta State Saturday, led his political associates to pay homage to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II.

The Olu of Warri was celebrating the 27th anniversary of his coronation and the event which was full of fanfare attracted people from different parts of the country with different groups and Itsekiri communities paying homage to the Olu.
 
Among those who joined the Governor to pay homage include former Minister of the Ministry of Niger Delta, Elder Godsday Orubebe, the member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju of the House of Representatives, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Peter Onwusanya and predecessor, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, and members of the state executive council, among others.
 
The event which also featured cultural display by different cultural groups was well attended by people of all walks of life.The coronation anniversary will end today (Sunday) with a thanksgiving service at the Foursquare Gospel Church, Olu Palace, Warri.

Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated a 12-member Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy (PACPM), tasked with recommending individuals eligible for presidential pardons from criminal convictions. The committee, chaired by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, was inaugurated on Wednesday. It has a four-year tenure and includes members drawn from various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), as well as representatives from religious bodies and four eminent Nigerians. GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI APPOINTS OSEJI AS DELTA HEAD OF SERVICE

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Minimim Oseji as the new Head of Service. Her appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Reginald Bayoko, who served in the position for nearly nine years. Dr. Oseji, a medical doctor, was previously the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and had also served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health.
