Delta State Empowermewnt Program in Songhai

The Delta State Government has continued its push towards meeting the critical youth employment needs through its Youths Empowerment Project (YEP), which gave rise to the selection of one hundred and fifty youths presently receiving training at the Songhai Cetre in Amukpe- Sapele. Under the programme the youths are to acquire skills that would turn them the employers of labour.

The overall objective of the Youths Empowerment initiative is to reduce the level of poverty and stimulate sustainable development in the State. The project will contribute towards this objective by providing an effective and sustainable job creation programme targeted at the youths of the State.

The Delta State interim governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has been accused of forging a Federal Government Gazette. In a viral video currently trending on YouTube and social media, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the March 18 Delta State gubernatorial election, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, alleged that Sheriff Oborevwori, Delta State interim governor forged a Federal Government Gazette. Gbagi accused Oborevwori of forging the Gazette to cover his acts of forgery since his political adventures began. He noted that Oborevwori has been using this forged Federal Government of Nigeria Gazette in courts up to the Supreme Court and back to help corrupt judges hide under it to get reprieves.
