DELTA: Police kill three suspected kidnappers

Security operatives killed three suspected kidnappers on Sunday at Enwhen village in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State. According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, the deceased were killed when men of the Dragon Squad of the police force stormed their den to rescue kidnap victims.

“Acting on a tip-off, SARS operatives and Dragon patrol team based at Ughelli stormed the kidnappers’ den at Enwhen village in Isoko South LGA, Delta state.” The PPRO said. Kalu also stated that the kidnap victims, Mr. Cyril Djebah, and Ms. Augustina Godwin from Ughelli were kidnapped last Tuesday by unknown hoodlums.

“The kidnappers on sighting the police team engaged them in a gun duel. In the process three of the hoodlums identified as one Samson Ughomare (m), Wisdom Ezormare (m) and Lucky (m), (surname unknown) were fatally wounded while others escaped with bullet wound, whereas the two victims were rescued unhurt.

“Items recovered from them include three (3) locally made guns.”
