Delta State Poly Student Gets 14 Years In Prison For Kidnapping

A 22-year-old ND II mechanical engineering student of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku has been convicted and sentenced to 14 years imprisonment with hard labour for the kidnapping of a nurse.
The suspect, Ndudi Ogwu on 13th September 2014 kidnapped one Mrs. Kate Okogu in front of her house as she returned from her shop with three other accomplice in Ughelli, Delta state.
Reports says that the kidnappers took their victim to a forest along Isoko-Patani Road where she was unlawfully held captive but she was rescued unhurt by a team of soldiers led by one Sergeant Austin Osudibia the next day as the suspect was arrested at the scene.
He was charged to a Delta State High Court sitting at Asaba where he was found guilty of the crime and was sentenced to 10 years on each the count of kidnapping and four years for conspiracy.
