DELTA 2015: “WE ARE SICK OVER THESE IMPOSITION CAMPAIGN SLOGANS”

"WE ARE SICK OVER THESE IMPOSITION CAMPAIGN SLOGANS RIGHT NOW IN DELTA STATE."
“WE ARE SICK OVER THESE IMPOSITION CAMPAIGN SLOGANS RIGHT NOW IN DELTA STATE”
In the past two weeks, the level of imposition campaigns has taken a different dimension in all our social networks. Looking at the spate of activities we now indulge especially campaigners of various aspirants not forgetting my people from Delta-North axis, one is tempted to ask so many questions as to why all these blind and out of focused campaigns in the PDP party which you all in one way or the other have been a crusader of same principle all these years even to the just concluded LGA quasi-bid-up set to hold on the 25th October that we know many of our Chairmen and councillors to be never went to the field for the primaries rather were selected by the leaders of our great party based on what has been a trade-mark by you all from time immemorial.
As I begin with this episode, I hereby ask few questions that requires a sensitive thinking by right minds;
1. Can any leader in the PDP deny never to have supported one candidate aside many others out there?
2. How did your Chairmen and councillors emerged in the just quasi-concluded LGA bid-ups not primaries?
3. Were they elected or selected/shared among you?
4. Does the Governor has right to support a particular aspirant among many others?
5. Did the governor said they won’t be primaries like the just LGA there were no primaries in most of your areas?
6. What are the fears right now to you all aspirants that made your campaigns to change direction?
In as much as I know, I really think the Governor is on track and is yet to make any visible mistakes in our eyes. He has the sole fundamental right to make his own choice just like you and I except the constitution now guarantee that he/she must be neutral. He has the right to dish support for his own preferred aspirant like you, He also has the right to appeal or lobby his families, colleagues or associates to support his choice just like you will do as well. Politics is about scheming, everyone schemes to favor his/her choices and no where in political principle has it been proved to be wrong.
In as much as the Governor is yet to say he is in support of aspirant ‘A’, I do think all aspirants should do their scheming well than embarking on a dangerous campaign strategy that can hinder your chances the more. The Governor will never be neutral in this case as the constitution never limits his powers on that. He as a person must support one aspirant above many others, He can never support all aspirants as He is bound to make just “A CHOICE” when it matters most so why don’t you be the man for him than crying wolf? I believe God gives power like we do say so why not trust the God we serve or you don’t trust him anymore here as a child of God? You can still be the Flagbearer of the party without the Governor if God has really said it’s you or you don’t think so again? come on, where is thy faith my people?
As I submit, I want to say that you all have a chance to be Governor’s candidate as you have made us all now believed you can never be without the Governor since no faith is attached any longer and my summary to you all is this, if you fail to land the Governor’s support, it only means you are not good enough to “HIM” not to the world so deal with it yourself and stop complaining to the ordinary masses because there weren’t there when you all were partakers of this same principle. Honestly, we complain so hard when the odd is against us on things we are good at doing but smiles and laugh when we benefits from same acts……My people are truly funny! please, you all should change your campaigns from off-key and stop abusing the silent operational Governor as he has his right to make just a choice and must make it no matter how hard you cry.
Respect!!!
Jones.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...

THE ENDURING LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP: Chief James Ibori Celebrated for His Impact on Delta State

On Friday, May 31st, during the funeral service for the Late Asagba of Asaba, the essence of true leadership was vividly displayed. The service featured the introduction of various dignitaries, including Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation who represented President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor Godwin Obaseki, and Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. As each dignitary was introduced, the church remained silent. However, the atmosphere dramatically changed when the name of Former Governor James Ibori was announced; the congregation erupted in wide jubilation and applause. This reaction was so profound that even Senator George Akume and Governor Obaseki could not hide their astonishment. The enthusiastic reception for Chief James Ibori during this solemn occasion highlighted his enduring legacy among the people of Delta State. Despite having left office seventeen years ago, he continues to be celebrated whenever he attends public functions i...
