Robbery suspect snatches N.9m, arrested in Warri

NEMESIS has caught up with a robbery suspect, identified as Alex Akuraku, who robbed one Akpome Gabriel of N900, 000 at gun point in Warri, Delta State.
The incident, which occurred on July 30 at about 6:20 p.m. at Okorodudu junction,  Effurun, sent commuters and traders fleeing the area amid sporadic gunshots from the robbers.
Akuraku, who operated with four others in a Toyota Camry car, as gathered, hails from Ufoma Street, off Udu road, Udu Local Government Area of the state.
He was arrested after he engaged a team of crime crackers from Enerhen Police Station in a cross fire around Hotel De Mark, Warri after a tip off from the victim.
 Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), DSP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the incident, said one AK 47 rifle with serial number 11937 loaded with eight (8) rounds of live ammunition, three AK 47 rifle magazines, one cut-to-size double-barrel gun, one live cartridge, one military jungle cap, some charms, three Nokia handsets, one black Toyota Camry with registration number KJA 278 B5 (Lagos), a pair of number plates with registration number AYB 223 GA (Delta) and N117,000.00 cash were recovered from the suspect.
She said efforts were also on to apprehend other fleeing suspects by the police.
