DELTA 2015: TONY CHUKS OBUH BRINGING ABOUT REAL CHANGE TO OUR GREAT STATE

Since modern day politicking is that of the fast lane, not many persons pay attention to excellent leadership qualities a man possesses. In the Delta State 2015 Governorship race, the presence of many aspirants has not over shadowed the outstanding Godly qualities of Mr. Anthony Chucks Obuh.

Mr.  Anthony Chucks Obuh is a study in servant leadership. And like Zig Ziggler says: The ultimate measure of a man is not the number of servants that he has but the number of people that he serves. His popularity before his nomination may not be unconnected with it. He has always quietly assisted people within his capacity and oftentimes, these acts do not attract much publicity.

To crown his humble disposition, when asked about his contribution to the present government, with all sense of modesty, he situates the drive and the passion that undergirds the obvious changes altering the landscape of the State as the work of God almighty and those of his boss, the Governor.  He believes that whatever success that has been recorded at the apex of his career, especially in the last twelve years is attributable to the support of his superiors and co-workers.

Another remarkable trait of Tony Obuh is his strength of character. He remains unwavered and resolute in the face of pressure, cheap blackmail and falsehood from the foes and elements that are immune to accepting good things. He knows this terrain could be rough and unfriendly. His uncommon maturity in approaching issues is remarkable and this has attracted a firm trust from the people to him.

The people see in Tony Obuh, one who will tap into and utilise the people's strong-minded spirit of enterprise, industry, commerce, and community. They know that Obuh has a rich CV and track record, which speaks for him. He is a savvy, purpose-driven, value-maximizing, and thoroughbred professional whose driving force hinges on the fundamental need to make a difference.

His strides have had to wield no magic wand other than his commitment to excellence which derives its finer stuff from hard work, dedication, and recourse to endless prayers. Isn't this what Deltans needs at times like this? Courage, Tenacity, and Patience! Having the courage to work with others, the tenacity to not succumb to pressure, and the patience to keep fighting until one wins the day--and sometimes being able to do all three at the same time--is something one will have to develop if he or she wants to be a true and successful leader.

As a man with firm roots, he will partner with local councils as well as investors to assist the development of markets. The next drive has to be industrialization and it requires planning and strategy, a proper drive for industrialization will ensure that the problems of insecurity, unemployment and education are solved. When there is a plan to develop industries, there will be the need to employ people, a situation that mandates proper training of youths with the appropriate skills to be employed and be less interested in crime, thereby helping to reduce the insecurity in the State.

A man who is prepared and ready to mobilise all strata of the society; a man who doesn't feel insecure to assemble the best brains and experts in the State; a man who will harness ideas from all and sundry through public and private consultations and participation. The future is bright as we expect a Governor who will match Godly leadership qualities with performance.

The Governor Uduaghan administration has set a strong foundation by putting in place key infrastructure. Next is for a visionary leader to drive the ship of State to economic prosperity, the man, Obuh versed with the workings of the public service to pilot it to the next level. Those who have interacted with Obuh know he has a desire to create a skilled youthful population. With this he will surely embark on vocational training, entrepreneurial and skills acquisition scheme for graduates along with the creation of Small Businesses through Micro-credit Scheme and creating new jobs every year, for the foreseeable future. Isn't this what the 'boys' need?

A man with experience and contacts, to enter into Public Private Partnerships (PPP) with both foreign and local investors to achieve economic growth objectives.
Obuh is a God fearing, resolute, dedicated, competent, creative, visionary, efficient, highly adaptable, disciplined, career minded performer, strategist and a richly experienced public sector player.
