TONY CHUCKS OBUH RECEIVES URHOBO COMMENDATION FOR RECOGNIZING PARTNERSHIP

The President General of Urhobo Progress Union, Worldwide, Chief Joe Omene, has commended PDP governorship front runner, Tony Chuks Obuh for recognizing and partnering with the Urhobo Nation early enough in his consultations on his ambition to become the next democratically elected Governor of Delta State come 2015.

Chief Omene made the commendation at his country home in Mosogar when Tony Obuh and the Project 2015 Team visited the leaders of Urhobo Progress Union. He said there are other aspirants from Delta North axis who are going round Delta Central on consultations without first paying homage to the UPU leadership.

Chief Omene noted that Tony Obuh also paid condolence visits to UPU leadership and the Chief Patrick Aziza's family when the former President General passed on. Chief Omene disclosed that Tony Obuh played major roles before and during the burial ceremonies of the late General Aziza by assisting UPU and the Aziza family financially and materially.

He told the UPU guest that his request for support during the 2015 gubernatorial election will be looked into at a larger forum of the UPU and revert back to him in no distant time. Chief Omene prayed God to grant Sir Obuh his heart desires and urged him to keep up his good conducts particularly his humility and respect for the Urhobo nation.

Speaking earlier, Tony Obuh assured the leadership of Urhobo nation of a level playing ground for the three senatorial districts through collective partnership in the governance of the Delta State, if elected in 2015.

He paid tribute to former UPU President General, Chief Patrick Aziza, describing him as a gallant hero who fought for the soco-economic and political advancement of the Urhobo nation in particular, Delta State and Nigeria in general.

Ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) unveiled a 197-member council on Wednesday to lead its campaign.
