DELTA 2015: NOW THAT ZONING SEEMED SETTLED

Zoning does not "seem" settled, but is now firmly established in PDP Delta State. But there must be bridge building between Delta North and other parts of the State, knowing that a Delta North son will be sworn in as Governor of Delta State by the grace of God.

What all Deltans need to do now is to come out and let's discuss policy action plans that will be best for the Delta people. However, it is good to know that Tony Chucks Obuh's manifesto is short and simple: the consolidation of existing gains by Gov. Uduaghan plus ensuring sustainable development according to best global practices. How these will be done are easy; the incoming administration will needfully follow the doctrine of Delta Beyond Oil and aim to do more than Dr. Uduaghan’s existing record.

Everyone knows that jobs creation is the bottom-line must and can-do by Tony Obuh. I believe that the Obuh’s administration will do just that. The Delta people solidly believe that Tony Obuh must and can do that bottom-line.

Look through the list of other gubernatorial aspirants. Put aside mere political rhetoric but consider political liabilities, limitations and baggage of the other aspirants. You will immediately conclude that there is no other aspirant who has all cylinders capacity to do that bottom-line. None, but Tony Obuh. So, let's not waste time.

Tony Obuh's policy plan will take care of political bridge-building across the State and jobs creation. So, there is nothing for opponents to quickly "talk-the-talk" about. All the opponents needs do now is to embrace the Obuh trend and align properly to be part of Team Obuh 2015. That should be the strategy; that should be what you tell other Deltans.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
