Governor Uduaghan nominates 10 commissioners



The Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan has forwarded the names of ten nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and subsequent confirmation as Commissioners.
The names of the nominees were contained in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Peter Onwusanya.

The commissioner nominees include Solomon Igrakpata, Joel Bisina, Pastor Powel Ojogho, David Anuku, David Peters Ekerekosu, Chris Ekiyor, Omolobi Newumi, Austine Ayemidjor, Matthew Opuoru and Benjamin Iwezu.

Dr. Uduaghan, in the letter appealed to the House for urgent consideration and confirmation of the nominees to enable him constitute the State Executive Council.
The House has directed the nominees to submit 35 copies each of their credentials to the Clerk of the House, and appear for screening on November 12.

Meanwhile, the House yesterday sworn-in Jerkins Gwede as member representing Ughelli North Constituency II following the Supreme Court ruling that sacked the former member, Edoja Akpodiete. The necessary oath of allegiance and oath of membership of the House were administered on Gwede by the Speaker.

In another separate letters to the Speaker, Governor Uduaghan forwarded names of nominees for appointment as chairman and members of the Local Government Service Commission and the state Universal Basic Education Board.

The nominees for LG service commission include Olumami Oyibo (chairman) while Paul Uwechue, Catherine Ilolo and Peter Abugewa as members while those for SUBEB are Elijah Ologe (chairman), while Emmanuel Amgbadugba, May Inijei and Azikiwe Ako as members.
