Dr. OKOWA VISITS ISOKO NATION, PROMISES EQUITY AND FAIR DEAL FOR ALL DELTANS

The Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Delta State, for the 2015 Governorship election, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has said that equity and fair deal awaits all Deltans if elected into office as Governor of Delta State come 2015.
Dr Okowa stated this during a meeting with Isoko PDP leaders at the Ozoro Country home of the Deputy Majority Leader House of Representatives and member representing the Isoko Federal Constituency Rt. Hon. Leo Okuweh Ogor. Senator Okowa said he was delighted to attend the meeting which has saved him the stress of coming to meet the various leaders individually.

"I am very excited to be in your midst today, I apologize for the fact that this meeting should have held before now. "I must thank you for the warm reception, I thank all of you for the show of love, Despite what I have been hearing, I came here and I met smiling faces "Whatever the challenges are there is still hope that it can be resolved amicably. I want to assure the Isoko Nation of equity and fair deal.

"I must appreciate the Isoko people for the support and show of love for the Okowa for Governor Project, however It is no longer about Dr Okowa it is now a PDP affair and all hands must be on deck to ensure that PDP is delivered in all the elections.
"For our leaders who have put up this meeting I am very grateful, I thank you and I am looking forward to a very glorious and prosperous future for Delta State.

"The PDP is one big family and it remains the same despite the outcome of the primaries. I seek for a peaceful family" he said. Senator Okowa also used the opportunity to drum support for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan saying that the President needs all the support of Deltans particularly Isoko people to return him to Aso Rock.

"He needs all our votes for him to return to continue his transformation Programme. As Deltans and Isoko people, we must endeavor to vote for him to ensure he wins the Presidency come 2015.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Secretary to the Delta State Government Comrade Ovuozourie Macauley said the meeting became very necessary following the outcome of the governorship primaries of December 8. "This meeting was summoned because the Isoko Nation will like to discuss certain issues with you as regards the demands of the Isoko Nation for the coming political dispensation."

The meeting was attended by party bigwigs including Senator Stella Omu, Secretary to the Delta State Government Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, Rt. Hon. Leo Ogor, Hon. Chief Askia Ogieh, Chairmen Isoko South and North Local Governments Sir Hon. Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo and Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, others are Chairman Isoko PDP Elders and Leaders Forum, Hon. Chief D.E.A. Etaluku and his deputy Hon. Chief Philip Oju, Chief Barrister A.P.J. Okpakpor, Arc. Joseph Ajiri Ogeh, Pharm. Patrick Ferife, Hon. Sir M.O.C. Eto, Dr Paul Oweh, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, Chief Mike Usige, Chief Mike Okah, Dr Eddy Ugboma, Hon. Chief Emmanuel Edevor, Hon. Oviemuno Oghoore, Chief Charles Obuvie among others.

EDO GUBER ELECTION: Omo-Agege, Faith Majemite, Others Appointed Into APC National Campaign Council

Ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) unveiled a 197-member council on Wednesday to lead its campaign.
