DELTA 2015: MORE IJAW GROUPS ENDORSE SENATOR IFEANYI OKOWA AS THEIR ONLY CANDIDATE FOR FEB, 2015 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS.

The Ijaws in OGBE-IJOH and environ have with utmost appreciations endorsed the Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as their only candidate for February, 2015 general elections.

Speaking at the meeting one of the leaders Chief Frank Omare, noted that Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has done well for the people of Delta State and Ijaws in particular, as the ijaws have benefitted immensely from Okowa even when he was a Commissioner, and till date, Expressing their satisfaction, further, he said we are happy that he is the Delta PDP Governorship Candidate and also grateful that our son, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro is the chosen running mate.

Speaking further, he said “we have millions of reasons for endorsing Senator Okowa as our only governorship candidate. We remain indebted to him as a good leader and surely deserve our support like every other good leader. The Senator deserves the support of every one as a mentor and a leader of inestimable value.

He re-assured that their votes will all go to him. He called on “Ijaw sons and daughters to make sure that all their votes’ counts for Senator Okowa, because we can't afford losing the man who is able and capable of transforming Delta and a man who has put smiles on the faces of ijaw people”. He also re-assured that they will soon move on house to house and community to community in advocating for Okowa.

Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated a 12-member Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy (PACPM), tasked with recommending individuals eligible for presidential pardons from criminal convictions. The committee, chaired by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, was inaugurated on Wednesday. It has a four-year tenure and includes members drawn from various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), as well as representatives from religious bodies and four eminent Nigerians. Among the notable appointees are Justice Augustine Utsaha, Prof. Alkasum Abba, Chief Akinlolu Olujinmi (SAN), and Prof. Nike Sidikat Ijaiya. GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI APPOINTS OSEJI AS DELTA HEAD OF SERVICE

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Minimim Oseji as the new Head of Service. Her appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Reginald Bayoko, who served in the position for nearly nine years. Dr. Oseji, a medical doctor, was previously the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and had also served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health. In 2020, she was elected as the 22nd National President of the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN).
