DELTA 2015 PDP RALLIES: THE CELEBRATION OF A WINNER

"The first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance" - Nathaniel Branden.  PDP Rallies in Delta State were another convention for the home coming of a hero born from the community. It was all memorable events the people of Delta State won’t forget in a hurry. They were events which played host to the largest crowds ever.

The Senator Okowa/Barrister Otuaro 2015 rallies were also significant on the other hand, because they hard evidence of how the people have accepted the personality of Senator Okowa. It will have the Barnum effect. The "Barnum effect" is the phenomenon whereby people willingly give their approval and acceptance of a personality.

They were a show of total acceptance of the personality of Senator Okowa by the people of Delta State. Every mother who intends to get her child out of diapers can't wait for the ultimate victory when they make it to the toilet with no spills. You have to be able to cheer along the way. As graphic as this metaphor may be, many of us don’t realize that great leaders are not just made, they are discovered, rewarded for progress and honoured so consistently that their hunger to become better is never-ending and because of this they ultimately start achieving results that few could ever expect.

Senator Okowa in the past has proven his worth and his performance have won him the hearts of the people of Delta State. Great leaders find the way to appreciate progress in themselves and progress in others. This is also the antidote to the overwhelming feeling people have when the task is so large.

Senator Okowa has distinguished himself with his ability to manage the affairs of government in the State and beyond. The people in great numbers came out to celebrate Senator Okowa. The people beat all hindrances to convey themselves to every venue to show that solidarity of acceptance to Senator Okowa and his Deputy designate, Barrister Otuaro.

The attendance at these rallies of the great Delta people and none indigenes alike have been tremendous. And many opposing agents are now being converted to believers, though some still remain in the wilderness of unbelief. PDP delegates’ choice of Senator Okowa is evidence of God's proven grace and God will not forget him. Senator Okowa has all what it takes to manage the State. He is a man who has achieved so much to the delight of all of us except you are a hypocrite.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
