DELTA 2015: I WILL BE A GOVERNOR FOR ALL DELTANS – SENATOR OKOWA

The governorship candidate of the PDP in Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has reassured Deltans that he will be fair and just to all irrespective of the ethnic and religious background.
Senator Okowa said this while addressing youths in Asaba at a rally to canvass support for President Goodluck Jonathan, Barr Peter Nwaoboshi, and Mrs. Mrakpor.
He noted that “if elected governor, I will be fair and just to all Deltans. I say this in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ on the day I declared for the governorship race that Governor Uduaghan will hand over to me and on December, 8 2014, I emerged the PDP governorship flag bearer.
Those who contend with me are good Deltans but are not ready yet to be Delta State Governor. I hate no man, I am not going to be governor of Anioma but governor of Delta State, let us vote massively for President Goodluck and all PDP candidates. He appreciated the youths for their unalloyed support for the PDP.
Speaking further, he pointed out that what is happening in Rivers State is the beginning of good things in PDP as March, 28 draws nearer.
He charged the youths who trooped into the streets of Asaba in the early hours of Tuesday to vote PDP, 5 over 5. The youths who vowed not to vote for the opposition, said that among all the governorship candidates, Senator Okowa is the most experienced and the only candidate that can transform the State.
The Aniocha/Oshimilli PDP House Of Representative Candidate, Evang Mrs Mrakpor who spoke during the campaign rally said, Barr Peter Nwaoboshi is the most qualified candidate for the Senate, urged all sons and daughters of Anioma to vote massively for Barr Peter Nwaoboshi.
Also speaking at the rally, the State PDP Chairman made it clear that PDP has no relationship with Accord Party, PDP is PDP and we all should vote massively for all PDP candidates, its 5 over 5, we thank you all for the support. God bless you all.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
