DELTA 2015: POLL PREDICTS SENATOR OKOWA AS WINNER

Prior to the April 11 gubernatorial election in Delta State, an organization known as the Routine International Network, a renowned survey network organization based in the United Kingdom has conducted a random survey of views both online and across the twenty five local government areas of Delta State to ascertain where the pendulum will swing in the upcoming Governorship election in State.

The survey which is headed by Mr. Gareth Graford, a survey analyst has placed Senator Okowa ahead of all other candidates in next month's polls. According to Graford, the data collated within a period of two months, included comments on social media and interviews of locals in all the local government areas in the State.

The survey registered 76 per cent in favour of the PDP standard bearer, with 24 percent for various opposition party candidates. A further analysis of the results show that only the Delta Central recorded significant opposition votes against the PDP, which reached about 55 per cent. But in 18 local government areas, among the men, women and youth interviewed, 88 per cent were in favour of the senator Okowa/Barrister Otuaro ticket.

An opinion poll, sometimes simply referred to as a poll, is a survey of public opinion from a particular sample. Opinion polls are usually designed to represent the opinions of a population by conducting a series of questions and then extrapolating generalities in ratio or within confidence intervals.

Mr. Graford who has conducted election survey in more than twenty three countries across the globe affirmed that with the ratio of opinion in support of Senator Okowa, there is likely to be further increase in the next four weeks with the massive public interest on the PDP flag bearer. He noted that these indices will likely increase and Senator Okowa will win with a landslide majority. He confessed that his interest to engage in this data analysis was because the Delta State election ranks among the most discussed poll on the print and social media alongside Lagos and Akwa Ibom States.

Mr. Graford said that most people interviewed opined that they will vote Senator Okowa in the coming elections because they want a leader who will be able to transform the State economy from a civil service State to a private sector driven economy and Senator Okowa is the only leader with this potentials among the candidates displayed by Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).
