GOVERNOR UDUAGHAN COMMISSIONS ASABA FLYOVER BRIDGE

The Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, today in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, commissioned the recently completed flyover bridge. The flyover is located at Nnebisi-Okpanam-Anwai Roads and Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan Way intersection, in the Asaba metropolis.

The strategic importance of this flyover in the political, social and economic life of the capital city will best be measured by the relief it will give to residents, visitors and transporters generally. It is located at this four-way junction, which connects the new town to the old. This intersection is a major link to different arms of the State government’s bureaucracy and different commercial hubs, which together with other factors, have tremendously increased traffic at this intersection, especially at peak hours.

With the completion of Utor Bridge at Ebu, which was commissioned by the Vice President, His Excellency, Arch. Namadi Sambo, GCON, in November 2014, the Ugbolu road now constitutes a major arterial route for traffic from the South-South and South-East States through Edo State to Abuja and to other parts of northern Nigeria. This has further justified the timeliness of this flyover in facilitating easy movements between the southern and northern parts of our dear country.

The construction of the flyover is a deliberate attempt by the Dr. Uduaghan’s administration to remove major bottlenecks that would portend very serious impediments to free flow of traffic in this major intersection and the city in general, in order to save valuable man hours, including the new pressure on the road as a gateway between the southern and northern parts of the country.  There is no doubt whatsoever that this flyover will also transform the skyline of Asaba.

The Governor reminded Deltans that the Governorship and House of Assembly elections are coming up this Saturday, April 11 and enjoined Deltans to remain peaceful and vote for the PDP to continue enjoying more benefits of democracy in all parts of the State.
