GOVERNOR OKOWA AT CHRIST EMBASSY, COMMENDS RELIGIOUS BODIES FOR ENDURING PEACE IN THE COUNTRY

The Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has commended religious bodies in the country for their prayers and contribution towards the peaceful 2015 general elections.
Speaking at the Thanksgiving/dedication service at the Christ Embassy, aka Believers' Loveworld Christian Ministry in Asaba in honour of the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Friday Osanebi, Governor Okowa said that the fervent prayers of the clergymen contributed heavily to the peaceful and violent free general elections witnessed throughout the country despite all apprehensions.
"Internationally, many countries believed that Nigeria will implode during and after the elections but God gave the country peace, because of the prayers of the Church", Governor Okowa said.
He charged Churches to continue in her prayers so that God would continue to sustain the peace in the nation.
Earlier Pastor Eween Edun in her sermon titled "Life Is Spiritual" observed that Christians need faith to believe the word of God and work with Him, stressing that all God needed was our truth, as the canal man cannot please God.
Highpoint of the occasion was the thanksgiving offering by the Deputy Speaker accompanied by Governor Okowa, legislators among others.
