GOVERNOR SENATOR OKOWA AND HIS JOBS PROJECTIONS

The Government of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa through the prosperity for all Deltans is dedicated to salvaging the underprivileged. Poverty has no conviction, hunger has no credo, and despair has no topography. The greatest challenge before Senator Okowa is to end the paucity of jobs to the teeming unemployed youth in Delta State.

The government is not aiming at mere poverty alleviation; but committed to the goal of poverty eradication. With a firm belief that the first claim on development belongs to the poor, the focus of attention is on those who need the rudimentary provisions of life most urgently. Hence necessary steps are being taken to provide safety in its entirety to all citizens through understanding, support and empowerment.

Senator Okowa began his governance with a key programme of the S.M.A.R.T agenda: creation of jobs, by its actualization through
wealth creation programmes that took off with the launch of six entrepreneurship schemes namely; Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme (YAGEP), Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP); Production and Processing Support Programme (PPSP); Tractorisation; Extension of Loans; and Development of Agro-industries. Selection interviews are currently on-going across the three senatorial districts.

The Governor has also approved the immediate completion of Sapele main market and construction of internal roads and rehabilitation of dilapidated ones in Asaba and around the State.

The government of Senator Okowa is working round the clock to provide roads and quality drains that will ease vehicular and human movements around the State and the capital city. The Asaba International cargo Airport is receiving urgent attention to make it accessible to all categories of aircraft.

Leadership is a word, and productive leadership is an art. The art part is when you use your knowledge and decision to apply proven practices to the status quo you are in to produce effective results. Senator Okowa’s preparedness to lead the State is not in any doubt.

Deltans should be assured of government’s readiness to delivering life touching projects and providing critical infrastructure to the people of the State.

Despite the national financial downturn and the fluid financial situation of the State, Governor Okowa is doing it right, to ensure the transformation of the State. Let all Deltans join hands in bringing these tall visions to realities.
