The Governor of Delta
State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has called on Nigerians to pray for their leaders
to enable them execute programmes that will be beneficial to the poor and needy
in the society.
The Governor made
the call today at the 13th anniversary celebration of Rock of Ages Christian
Assembly International, Benin City. The Governor noted that "it is not
enough to come to the church and pray for ourselves alone, we should pray for
our leaders," adding, "we should pay attention to the poor and the
needy in our society and as churches, it is not enough to pray for the poor and
the needy, we should assist them physically to make progress."
He observed that
the economic situation of the country can improve with prayers, asserting,
"there is nothing God cannot do, if you call on the name of God, He will
hear your prayers."
The Governor
congratulated the Senior Pastor Charles Osazuwa for the growth
recorded by the Church.
Earlier, Pastor
Osazuwa described Governor Okowa, as a man of few words who does not fail when
he makes promises, "he is a man of integrity and I can tell you that there
are few people I have met with his level of integrity."
The Pastor
preached on the topic, 'the mystery called name,' stating, "your greatest
investment is your name, it is the greatest asset you are living for your
children”.
