SENATOR IFEANYI OKOWA: NO GANG-UP CAN TAKEAWAY THE DIVINE MANDATE

Frankly speaking, any Appeal Court ruling on the Delta State governorship election that is contrary will be a federal rape on the people of the State who out of conviction and a careful assessment of candidates on the April 11, 2015 poll, entrusted their future and mandate to Senator Ifeanyi Okowa by electing him as governor of the State.

True to his good nature and humane disposition, Senator Okowa within the last six months in office has tried to keep his campaign promises to the people of the State. He started very well as one who has good visions for the State. The governor had traverse the entire State, breaking grounds and laying foundations for take-off of projects, which the people had yearned for years. He fits in as that leader with the right passion and attitude that will move Delta people from where they are today to the next level of development.

It is important to note here, that the government of Senator Okowa holds even greater promises to Delta people who have never in the 24 years of existence of the State tested the fruit of industrialization. The emergence of Senator Okowa as governor once again rekindled the people’s hope on an industrialized Delta after years of broken promises and deceit.

For those who try to see through the future, had long predicted that the ruling APC will attempt a gang-up against the PDP in their desperate bid to claim the oil rich States they always wanted. That is why when Senator Okowa is busy smiling. Although the governor believes his God is not a god of appeal but a supreme God, but the fact remains that some people still believe that the judiciary is acting the already prepared script for them by the ruling APC.

It takes sacrifice to move Delta State to where it is today, and achieve what Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has achieved within six months with the depleting financial situation in the country. Like the governor said, that when the passion is right, nothing is impossible. Okowa’s right passion and approach to developments in the State has made Delta State the talking point today and where development is taking place. He is the only man that has all it takes to improve the Internally Generated Revenue for the State and empower our young men with skills.

But because Senator Okowa’s governorship is anchored on a divine mandate, it therefore means that God is in charge. And since God is the chief cornerstone of his mandate, there is no gang-up, be it by the judiciary or anyone for that matter that will take away Senator Okowa’s divine mandate. The will of God and the desires of majority of Delta people will certainly stand.

God bless Senator Okowa!
God bless Delta State!!
God bless Nigeria!!!

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...

This reaction was so profound that even Senator George Akume and Governor Obaseki could not hide their astonishment.
