The
Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has called on security
agencies to partner with government in the maintenance of law and order in the

Governor
Okowa who said this when the management team of the Nigerian Navy Logistics
Command paid a courtesy visit on him in Asaba observed that synergy among
security agencies in the state was key to fighting against the security
challenges faced in the country.
According to him
"This visit is important because it has enabled us to know more of your
duties in the state; my office has been briefed concerning your partnership
with the Nigerian Police and the Military in the Ethiope West region of the
state towards maintaining law and order and we must appreciate you for it"
he said.
He
commended the Nigerian Navy for the efforts they have made in the past to
maintain peace in the waterways and their host communities stating that
"There have been no negative reports about actions carried out that are
not conducive for the members of the communities and to that effect I must
commend you on the way you have executed your duties".
The
governor assured the command that government would look into the various
requests they have made in order to function effectively.
Earlier,
the Flag Officer Nigerian Navy Logistics Command Oghara, Rear Admiral Emmanuel
Ofik assured Governor Okowa that the command would continuously work with
government and other security agencies to enforce the needed security in their
host communities and the state.
