GOVERNOR OKOWA: FULFILLING HIS ELECTION PROMISES IN THE ROAD SECTOR

Honesty is the channel of truth between the soul and the mind. Those who nurture it are imbued with enormous power: the power to know, the power to differentiate, the power to reflect, the power to choose, the power to speak the truth, and ultimately the power to grow.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is an honest leader who does not indulge in lies to get votes and turn around to deny the pledges he made. Rather, he is fulfilling his promises so that his people can grow economically, socially, politically and mentally.

The Governor during his campaigns had pledged to the people of Delta State numerous plans that will change their living Standard.

During the 2015 general election, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa made a promise to the people of the State to use our God given resources to transform and prosper the State. As a just leader who was not lying just to gain votes from the electorate and later deny his promises, Governor Okowa is fulfilling the ones he made. Despite the financial downturn in the country, the Governor is transforming the road sector in the State.

Barely nine months in office, the Governor Okowa-led administration has embarked on massive quality road construction and rehabilitation of major roads and streets in the nooks and crannies of the State aimed at opening up communities.

Serious work is on-going in: There serious ongoing work on the Sector A of the Ughelli/Asaba Road dualization, the dualization of Cable point road, Asaba, the dualization of Okpanam road, Asaba, the construction of Uduophori town road in Patani local government, Ikoyo avenue off shell road, Sapele, Construction of Access Road to Christ Embassy Church, Off Summit Road, Asaba. The Eku-Osubi road is undergoing rehabilitation. Airport road Warri is also undergoing rehabilitation.

In Okumagba Layout and Okere-Urhobo in Warri, residents of Ejinyere, Dederu and Akemu Streets are so elated at the thoughtfulness of Governor Okowa in bringing hopes to them at last. Different Roads in Delta State at the moment are currently under construction. More roads will soon be awarded for construction and rehabilitation across the State.

The focus is not just about starting the projects but about their timely completion before the rainy season sets in.

More promises fulfilled by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa will be coming your way in other editions.

No one is greater than God.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...

THE ENDURING LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP: Chief James Ibori Celebrated for His Impact on Delta State

On Friday, May 31st, during the funeral service for the Late Asagba of Asaba, the essence of true leadership was vividly displayed. The service featured the introduction of various dignitaries, including Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation who represented President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor Godwin Obaseki, and Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. As each dignitary was introduced, the church remained silent. However, the atmosphere dramatically changed when the name of Former Governor James Ibori was announced; the congregation erupted in wide jubilation and applause. This reaction was so profound that even Senator George Akume and Governor Obaseki could not hide their astonishment. The enthusiastic reception for Chief James Ibori during this solemn occasion highlighted his enduring legacy among the people of Delta State. Despite having left office seventeen years ago, he continues to be celebrated whenever he attends public functions i...
