VALENTINE TRAGEDY: HOW POLICE ACP DROWNED IN SWIMMING POOL ON VALENTINE’S DAY

An Assistant Commissioner of Police, Osung Ekpo, who is in charge of the Area K Command Lagos State, is said to have died while swimming in a pool at a Lagos Hotel on Sunday, February 14. 
ACP Ekpo reportedly drowned while celebrating Valentine’s Day in the company of his family and the body of the late officer has been deposited to a mortuary.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Superintendent of Police (SP), Dolapo Opeyemi Badmus, confirmed the death of the senior police in a text message sent to The News.
The text stated that: “We lost him to the cold hands of death while he was swimming in a pool yesterday night. The command is mourning this indefatigable officer. May his gallant soul rest in perfect peace”

Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated a 12-member Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy (PACPM), tasked with recommending individuals eligible for presidential pardons from criminal convictions. The committee, chaired by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, was inaugurated on Wednesday. GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI APPOINTS OSEJI AS DELTA HEAD OF SERVICE

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Minimim Oseji as the new Head of Service. Her appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Reginald Bayoko, who served in the position for nearly nine years.
