As part of its urban renewal and development efforts and in accordance with
    the State Government's plan to link rural areas to urban centers as well as
    give roads in the state a face lift, the Delta State Government has approved
    the construction, rehabilitation and widening of five roads in the State. 
     
    Speaking during a post executive council press briefing yesterday (05-4-16)
    the Commissioner for Information, Mr Patrick Ukah, flanked by the
    Commissioner for Special Duties, Government House, Hon. Henry Sakpra,
    disclosed that the roads were meant to bring economic development closer to
    the people and open up the various communities as well as a fulfillment of
    Governor Okowa's campaign promises to the people of the areas. 
     
    According to Mr. Ukah, the approved roads include, rehabilitation, widening
    of access road to Beneku community in Ndokwa East Local Government Area,
    reconstruction, widening of Owhelogbo Abbi road in Isoko North and Ndokwa
    West Local Government Areas, review of scope of work and construction of
    Okere-Urhobo community roads in Warri South Local Government Area. 
     
    Others are construction of Ugbomro road (section 1) (between DSC Expressway
    and the Federal University of Petroleum Resources junction) in Uvwie Local
    Government Area, rehabilitation of Old Abraka road (from traffic light to
    power line), Owa in Ika North East Local Government Area. 
     
    Ukah also said in accordance with the declaration stating the Customary Law
    Regulating Succession to the Traditional Ruler Title of Obi of Ugboba, Exco
    approved the appointment of Prince Ezedimbu Emmanuel Nkebakwu III, as the
    Obi of Ugboba Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area.
