DELTA PDP DOORS ARE WIDE OPEN AS THE UMBRELLA IS BIG ENOUGH TO ACCOMMODATE ALL SAYS DELTA PDP CHAIRMAN ESISO
The attention of the Delta State PDP has been drawn to a wicked and frivolous publication on page 33 of Vanguard of Wednesday, 11 May, 2016 by one Chief Ominimini Obiuwevbi who claimed to be the National Chairman, PDP aggrieved group.
The State Chairman, Barrister Kingsley Esiso, declared that for the records, the Delta State PDP family does not recognize or know any group, with the above name.
According to the State Chairman, the 11-member Delta State PDP Congress committee from Abuja led by Dame Uzo Nwandu conducted the Congress, witnessed by INEC officials. The exercise was adjudged as peaceful, free of any acrimony and rancour. Barrister Esiso emphasized that the PDP umbrella in the State is big enough to accommodate all, he stated this while chatting with news men in his office on resumption.
The Chairman further stated that, the party is a one united family as witnessed by the way the Congress were conducted and concluded at wards, Local Government and State levels.
Chief Barr Esiso also declare that he is not sure if Ominimini is still a member of the party because no true member of the party will make such comments about the just concluded congresses in the State on the pages of newspaper.
The State Chairman advised members of the general public to disregard the newspaper publication by Ominimini.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...

This reaction was so profound that even Senator George Akume and Governor Obaseki could not hide their astonishment.
