ESISO HAS URGED PDP MEMBERS IN THE STATE TO REMAIN COMMITTED, DILIGENT, AND LOYAL TO THE PARTY

Esiso Talks Tough, Gives PDP Defectors Ultimatum… or
The Delta State Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Kingsley Esiso has advised members of the party who have or are nursing the intent of leaving the party to retrace their steps, adding that there are no green pastures in the other political parties.
Esiso, insisted that the ward, local government and State congresses organized by the PDP in the State were transparent, peaceful and orderly.
Esiso, who gave the advice while fielding questions from newsmen at the PDP state secretariat, while refuting the allegations that the State, local and ward congresses held in the State were not free and fair by one of the party chieftains, Chief Obiuwevbi Ominimini published in one of the national dailies.
According to him, “I am not sure if Chief Ominimini is a loyal member of the PDP. If he is, he will agree that the congresses were very free and fair, which was evident by the happiness and jubilation of men and women across the state”
He averred that the congresses were applauded by PDP faithful and stakeholders in the state, saying that the claim by Chief Ominimini was a figment of his own imagination as he was not at the venues of the congresses.
He, therefore, called on PDP faithful in the state and Nigeria in general to disregard Chief Omininmi’s claim, insisting that the claim is baseless and does not hold water.
He maintained that PDP in Delta State is united, focused and poised to win more states in the federation, as well as regain power at the centre come 2019.
While expressing his support for the zoning formula of the PDP, Chief Esiso said that so far, Delta North in the person of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa will man the office of the governor till 2023. He said, “Zoning brings peace in any polity and I subscribe to it. I am a product of zoning”.
He urged members of the party in the State to remain committed, diligent, and loyal to the party, adding that his emergence as the State Chairman points to the fact that anybody can be anything in the party, even as he charged members to do the needful to achieve any dreams they may nurse in the party.
Eulogizing the efforts of the Senator Ifeanyi Okowa-led government; he said that the governor has unveiled his infrastructure and development machinery. He stated that, “Okowa is a miracle working governor who has turned Delta State to a road construction site and has shown that he will not only sustain the tempo, but will improve on it.”

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
