Not a few people know that Amaechi is one of the most reckless
politicians around when it comes to making statements. More than often, he has
been refrained from making public statements.
What happened in Uyo was shameful. Amaechi lied through his teeth
and it infuriated most of the members in the gathering. He said it was N13
billion for just land. It is only a very silly loud mouth that can make a
statement like that months after you had spoken about closing down the
University....without visiting the site and the outcry it brought with people
posting photographs of the properties that are on the premises of the school
which is far far more than what you have in Otuoke?
It is the people of that area that demanded for a Maritime
University. It is what they wanted. If Dr. Kachikwu wants it to be a Petroleum
University, I think he is exceptionally intelligent enough to know what to do
even if it means making it a Campus of the PTI (now Petroleum University).
Kachikwu did not play to the gallery. He is not a politician.
Kachikwu knows that there exist a certain capacity that can knock down
Nigeria's ability to export crude oil from the Niger Delta by 100%. Almost
effortlessly.
Words have life. Quality in the delivery of words is critical at
moments when we there are conflicts to be resolved.
