WEEKEND FILE: SOME NIGERIANS LIVE AND DIE FOR PARTIES OR EXTRAVAGANZA TRIP.

Some Nigerians like parties more than anything.  They don't mind traveling from the moon to the stars to attend. Every weekend another party. And each time, a different outfit must be bought. An expensive one for that matter. Just imagine the amount of money spent in a year, just for such activities.

They will put their hand deep into their pocket, or overstretch their credit to the utmost limit, to pay for it and if there is no money available, they don't mind borrowing, just in order to appear. They will be moving around like a peacock to get admiration from all those present and to impress the men or the women world.

Parties are the breeding ground for gossip. Most of the people are not real life friends, but are there to catch the latest gist, in order to have something to gossip about. THIS man has been seen with THIS woman. And a certain woman was doing this or that.

Some Nigerians live and die for parties. Without it, they feel they are missing out on something. They may call it socializing, but it is all extravaganza trip.

Anyway, that should not be the orientation of the highly conscious, for them, it's not their world. They can't be bothered and they may not really enjoy such gatherings. A get together with a few good friends once a while is okay and quite sufficient.
