The Governor
of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has sworn-in immediate past Chairman of
the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP in Delta State, Chief Edwin Uzor and his
former Deputy, Hon. Chief Emmanuel Ighomina as Special Advisers.
Governor Okowa at the occasion said their appointments became
necessary to replace two former Special Advisers, Barr. Kingsley Esiso and
Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, who resigned to contest as State Chairman and National
Vice Chairman of the party respectively.
The Governor charged
the new Special Advisers to ensure that the quality of advice they give to
government will be in the overall interest of Deltans.
In a
vote of thanks on behalf of his colleague, Chief Edwin Uzor assured the
Governor of their utmost loyalty to the government and promised to contribute
their quota towards the realization of the SMART Agenda.
The
occasion which held at the Exco Chambers of the Government House Asaba was
attended by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, Deputy Speaker of the
State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, Majority Leader, Hon.
Tim Owhefere, Head of Service, Mr Reginald Bayoko, Chairman PDP Delta North, Mr
Moses Iduh and other top government functionaries.
