NAMES OF INEC, NPC COMMISSIONERS CONFIRMED, As Jonathan, Shonekan, Others Attend Council Of State Meeting -Obasanjo, IBB Absent

DRAMA AS BUHARI, JONATHAN, SHONEKAN, OTHERS ATTEND COUNCIL OF STATE MEETING -OBASANJO, IBB ABSENT (FULL DETAILS)
There was a mild drama yesterday at the Council of State meeting as photographers and cameramen ‘abandoned’ President Muhammadu Buhari for his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan.
According to Dailytrust report, President Buhari led Jonathan as well as former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar and former Head of the Interim National Government Chief Ernest Shonekan to the meeting. The cameramen and photographers focused on Jonathan for about one minute while Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, governors and other officials in attendance remained standing. President Buhari, his predecessor Goodluck Jonathan, former interim presidnt Ernest Shonekan and former military leade, Abdulsalami Abubakar, are presently attending the Council of State meeting holding at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Council of State also confirmed the appointments of six additional commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as the appointments of five commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC).
The confirmations were made at a meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

The new INEC commissioners confirmed are:

Mohammed Haruna, north-central; Efiem Hammed Tijani Muazu, northeast; Abubakar Nahuche, northwest; Ikechukwu Obion, southeast, May Agbamuche Mbu, south-south and Dr Adekunle Ladipo Ogunmola, southwest.

The new commissioners of the National Population Commission confirmed are Eyitayo Oyetunji from Oyo, Patricia Nyanya from Benue, Benedict Ukpong from Akwa Ibom, Haliru Bala from Kebbi, Gloria Izonfu from Bayelsa.
The Nigerian Police Council has confirmed Ibrahim Idris as substantive Inspector-General of Police.
