A PEACEFUL AND UNITED COUNTRY IS THE BEST HONOUR FOR OUR FALLEN HEROES – GOVERNOR OKOWA

The Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has said that a peaceful and united country is the best honour we give to our fallen heroes. The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Barrister Festus Ovie Agas, made the call today at the 2017 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration Interdenominational Thanksgiving service held at Divine Way Baptist Church, Asaba

The Governor called on Nigerians to work towards peace and security at all times.  He appealed to all Nigerians to always seek the path of peace, equity and justice. Above all, “we should all opt for dialogue and consistent communication, which often reduce tension and the likelihood of violence”.
Noting that the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides all aggrieved with channels to air their grievances. He urged our people, especially Niger Deltans to always seek the option of dialogue and avoid the option of self service.

Ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) unveiled a 197-member council on Wednesday to lead its campaign. On Friday, May 31st, during the funeral service for the Late Asagba of Asaba, the essence of true leadership was vividly displayed.
