NIGERIA’S VICE PRESIDENT, PROF YEMI OSINBAJO IN DELTA STATE

The Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa today welcomed the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo into Delta State through the Osubi Airport, near Warri.

The Vice President who is on a fact finding visit to Delta State, is to interact with oil bearing communities and stakeholders in the State, as part of efforts aimed at finding lasting solution to the lingering tension in the Niger Delta region.

It would be recalled that agitators had in 2016, engaged in sustained bombings and vandalization of oil installations and facilities in the Niger Delta, particularly in Delta State, which led to disruption in oil production, thus impacting negatively on the revenue earnings of the country.

Prof Yemi Osibanjo, is also expected to visit other States in the Niger Delta region.
