The President-General of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Chief Moses Taiga and his executive on Sunday  April 2, 2017 paid a courtesy cum consultation visit on the former Executive Governor of Delta State and Urhobo Nation foremost leader, His Excellency, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, at his Oghara residence in Ethiope West LGA, Delta State, South-South Nigeria.

The visit was a strategic move to get Chief James Ibori deeply involved in the process of restoring absolute unity, peace and progress to Urhobo Nation after nearly three years of political and ethnic debacle caused by the needless division in UPU occasioned by factionalization provoked by Uvwiamuge Declaration during 2015 general elections in Delta State.

It is hoped that with the intervention of His Excellency, Chief Ibori, all pending disputes within UPU and those among Urhobo elites shall be put to rest, to open a new sparkling page for the sociocultural and political reintegration of Urhobo Ethnic Nationalities so as to enable it to reoccupy the front role in the political scheme of things in Nigeria and in comity of Nations.

Chief James Onanefe Ibori and His Royal Majesty, Ogurimerime, Okori 1, the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom received the UPU delegation led by Olorogun Moses Taiga.

Others who were on ground to receive the UPU exco are; Senator Ighoyota Amori, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Prince Charles Abutor, Hon Evance Ivwurie, hon Christian Onogba, Mr Solomon Golley (Ethiope West Council Chairman). Jude Fregene, Isaac Ako and host of others.

He enjoined PG Moses Taiga and his Exco to be focused and keep deaf ears to busy body critics and certain persons who are working secretly for themselves to the detriment of the collective interests and gains of Urhobo nation.

His Royal Majesty, Ukori 1, the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom later prayed for PG Taiga and his team.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...

Obarisi, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege arrived Osubi Airport flanked by Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, Hon. Eric Oharisi and Hon. Evance Iwhurie. The streets of Ughelli came alive with jubilation as the former Deputy Senate President and his entourage drove into town. It was a historic moment, characterized by the beating of drums, vibrant displays of cultural pride, and an overwhelming sense of camaraderie among the people.
