In line with Delta State Government peoples focused health-for-All policy of Governor Okowa's administration, HIV STATUS SCREENING programme was today flagged off by the Secretary to Delta State Government, Barrister Ovie Agas at Owa Alero in Ika North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The programme, according to the SSG, is to enable people in the various communities to willingly know their HIV status, adding that those found to be positive shall undergo free counselling and assisted by the state government through the ministry of Health for the treatment and management of their health conditions.
He said the screening and counselling is free of charge which is why people in the 20 targeted communities must endeavour to make it a point of duty to embrace the kind gesture of government by presenting themselves for the HIV STATUS screening exercise.
SSG Agas disclosed that the State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa being a medical doctor pays prime attention to primary healthcare and well-being of the good people of Delta State.
The event was a huge success as people from the 20 targeted communities attended the HIV STATUS screening flag off exercise.
