DELTA SSG, HON. FESTUS AGAS FLAGS OFF HIV STATUS SCREENING PROGRAMME FOR 20 COMMUNITIES IN DELTA STATE.

In line with Delta State Government peoples focused health-for-All policy of Governor Okowa's administration, HIV STATUS SCREENING programme was today flagged off by the Secretary to Delta State Government, Barrister Ovie Agas at Owa Alero in Ika North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The programme, according to the SSG, is to enable people in the various communities to willingly know their HIV status, adding that those found to be positive shall undergo free counselling and assisted by the state government through the ministry of Health for the treatment and management of their health conditions.
He said the screening and counselling is free of charge which is why people in the 20 targeted communities must endeavour to make it a point of duty to embrace the kind gesture of government by presenting themselves for the HIV STATUS screening exercise.
SSG Agas disclosed that the State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa being a medical doctor pays prime attention to primary healthcare and well-being of the good people of Delta State.
The event was a huge success as people from the 20 targeted communities attended the HIV STATUS screening flag off exercise.
SSG Agas was also screened and declared HIV/AIDS negative.

Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated a 12-member Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy (PACPM), tasked with recommending individuals eligible for presidential pardons from criminal convictions. The committee, chaired by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, was inaugurated on Wednesday. It has a four-year tenure and includes members drawn from various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), as well as representatives from religious bodies and four eminent Nigerians. GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI APPOINTS OSEJI AS DELTA HEAD OF SERVICE

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Minimim Oseji as the new Head of Service. Her appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Reginald Bayoko, who served in the position for nearly nine years. Dr. Oseji, a medical doctor, was previously the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and had also served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health. In 2020, she was elected as the 22nd National President of the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN).
