PDP DELTA CENTRAL ENDORSES GOV OKOWA FOR SECOND TERM… Insist on power rotation.

The Peoples’ Democratic Party – PDP - leaders and stakeholders in Delta Central senatorial district have declared that there is no vacancy for the office of Governor in the State.
Rising from their strategic monthly meeting on Friday April 21, at Orerokpe in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, the meeting resolved to sustain power rotation in the State, which allows Delta North to complete her two terms by rallying around Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for his re-election in 2019.
It was a resounding "YES" voice vote as party members, leaders and stakeholders endorsed the governor for second term. The meeting also passed a vote of confidence on the governor.
The State Chairman of PDP, Barrister Kingsley Esiso in his key note address described governor Okowa as a pan Delta leader. Noting that "Our amiable governor should be supported by all in 2019. "In less than two years Governor Okowa transformed thousands of our youths through various economic empowerment policies of the State government.

The State Chairman pointed out that Delta Central and Delta South have benefited from power rotation in the past, which is why equity, good conscience and natural justice demands that Delta North should be allowed to complete her second term.
The Chairman of PDP Delta Central, Chief Patrick Fovie in his speech said that there is always the need to sustain and improve on the existing power rotation between the three senatorial districts for equitable distribution of political power in the State.
Noting further that: "We must be vigilant and tactful in dealing with the opposition, who are trying to cause unnecessary confusion through deceitful political propaganda anchored on "Urhobo Interest." "The best urhobo interest is to allow equity and justice in political power distribution by supporting Delta North for a second term, as already declared by our general leader, His Excellency Chief James Onanefe Ibori. With power rotation, Governor Okowa will handover to a Governor of Urhobo extraction come May 29, 2023.
"Urhobos cannot be fooled and misled by the opposition which also consists of the two key actors of Uvwiamuge Declaration Urhobo Governorship candidates in 2015, a development which planted regrettable seeds of political discord, bitter acrimony and division in Urhobo Nation.Image may contain: one or more people and people standing

"The two Uvwiamuge Declaration exponents have now reconciled into one party, they left Urhobo more confused and divided. They got huge patronage from the APC federal government in terms of appointments for their family members and cronies leaving Urhobo Nation in open despair and disrepute.
"We must therefore take the turn-by-turn message to our people in Delta Central and drum it very hard on their ears so that they do not yield to the personal selfish interests of some members of the opposition who wants to fraudulently grab power relying on the deceitful Urhobo interest as their campaign strategy in 2019."
The meeting also ratified and adopted the earlier endorsement of Governor Okowa by the former governor of the State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
