HON. FESTUS AGAS, DELTA STATE SSG FELICITATES WITH GOVERNOR OKOWA AT 58

The Secretary to the Delta State Government, Hon. Barrister Festus Ovie Agas, has described the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as a visionary and detribalised leader whose firm determination to deliver on his electioneering promises is unparalleled. The SSG stated this in his congratulatory message to the Governor on his fifty eighth birthday celebration.

"I congratulate Your Excellency as you mark and celebrate your 58th birthday anniversary in good health and divine favour. You have over the years made your family and the State proud, especially for your unbroken promises and visionary leadership which has opened a new page of quality service to Deltans”.

"I am grateful to God for His divine hands upon your life and that of your family, particularly as you lead us into another phase of socioeconomic and and political development.

"The footprints of your good governance initiatives since you assumed office as Governor of Delta State speaks volume and a pointer to the fact that God in His infinite wisdom ordained you to be our Governor, especially at a most trying time as this, when our people are yearning earnestly for a visionary, detribalised, proactive and result oriented leader. 

"The good people Delta Central and indeed all Deltans are proud of you and are praying fervently for you and your family.

"I strongly believe that your life is just beginning at fifty-eight, as your wise counsel and services is still needed by Deltans and our dear country, Nigeria. I pray God to grant you good health and long life for more selfless service to Delta State, Nigeria and the entire human race”, Agas added.

Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated a 12-member Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy (PACPM), tasked with recommending individuals eligible for presidential pardons from criminal convictions. The committee, chaired by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, was inaugurated on Wednesday. It has a four-year tenure and includes members drawn from various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), as well as representatives from religious bodies and four eminent Nigerians. Among the notable appointees are Justice Augustine Utsaha, Prof. Alkasum Abba, Chief Akinlolu Olujinmi (SAN), and Prof. Nike Sidikat Ijaiya. GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI APPOINTS OSEJI AS DELTA HEAD OF SERVICE

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Minimim Oseji as the new Head of Service. Her appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Reginald Bayoko, who served in the position for nearly nine years. Dr. Oseji, a medical doctor, was previously the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and had also served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health. In 2020, she was elected as the 22nd National President of the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN).
