The incumbent Governor of
Anambra state and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA),
Willie Obiano, has emerged winner of Saturday, November 18, governorship
election in the state.
New Telegraph reports that Obiano who will serve for another four
years as governor defeated 36 others to emerge the winner.
It is gathered
that he won in all the 21 local government areas by a wide margin after winning
his local government, Anambra east and defeated all his opponents in their
local governments.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Tony Nwoye, is far
behind in second position. The PDP candidate Oseloka Obaze, came third while
Osita Chidoka of the UPP came a distant fourth.
There were 2.16 million
voters with permanent voter cards for the election which had a record 37
contestants.
Meanwhile, it was earlier
reported that Governor Willie Obiano is projected to
be returned as governor in the Anambra state following his performance in the
polls held on Saturday, November 18.
