Information coming out of Aso Rock on Wednesday morning from one of one credible source revealed that an emergency meeting was held in Aso Villa on Tuesday night with its major agenda focusing on the Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter that came to President Muhammadu Buhari as a rude shock.
Post-Nigeria recalls that Obasanjo had in an 18- page letter accused Buhari of nepotism, incompetence and further advised him to re-contest in 2019 but rather ”Go home and rest.”
Few hours after Obasanjo dropped the bombshell, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, and former Interim National Chairman of the party, Bisi Akande was held a secret meeting with Buhari.
Although Tinubu through his Media Aide, Tunde Rahman, has revealed that the meeting was unconnected to Obasanjo’s Letter.
Speaking exclusively to Post Nigeria’s Correspondent on Wednesday morning, the highly placed source stated that a caucus meeting was held at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday night  away from the ‘prying eyes of the Press.
He revealed that Obasanjo’s letter has changed the political dynamics and calculation of 2019 with many believing that APC may lose the Presidency if  Buhari is presented as the Presidential candidate.
”A secret meeting was held at the Presidential Villa yesterday night were issues bordering on Obasanjo’s letter was extensively discussed. I learnt that the APC has decided to go for option ‘B’ if Buhari/ Osibanjo’s ticket refused to fly. Nigerians are angry, people are suffering, the economy is crumbling, so APC does not want to suffer disgrace like Jonathan. APC is ready to sacrifice Buhari so that the party will not lose at the centre in 2019.
He added: ”It was finally concluded that The Governor Of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai should by at the stand by as the political dynamices unfold.  It was concluded that  El-Rufai should be considered to fly the Presidential Ticket in 2019 as Buhari retires from politics.”

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
