RANTS HERE: Oshomole’s Governor Installing Comments

The former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole had at a mega rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benin City, Edo State, on Friday declared that the party would extend its coast in the South South by installing an APC governor in Delta State.

The choice of words, especially the use of ' by installing', by the former labour leader is a manifestation of his limited knowledge of politics as against unionism where he claims to be a master. Nigerians and indeed the people of Edo State are not unmindful that Oshomole and co. rigged the last governorship election in that State.

It is surprising that Comrade Oshiomhole, who is a leader of a party that has brought untold hardship to Nigerians, will be talking of installing a Governor in a State that is not his own instead of suggesting ways of how to make living bearable for Nigerians, and save Nigerians from being slaughtered by herdsmen.

The former Governor should first join hands with others in his party to put their house in order by conducting a successful national convention that is long overdue instead of engaging in a wild goose chase.

Comrade Oshiomole and his likes in APC are responsible for putting Nigeria in its present comatose situation, thereby taking a country that was on steady growth, several steps backward.

Comrade Oshiomhole should not be deceived by fair-weather politicians who are leaving the PDP for the APC describing them as spent forces who feel uncomfortable with the reforms presently going on in the PDP.

Delta State is in safe hands under the leadership of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, at the appropriate time the people would denounce and disgrace Oshomole and his co-conspirators.

With the numerous developmental projects going on in various parts of the State, Deltans are satisfied with the performance of the present administration.

It should be made clear that the propaganda used to deceive Nigerians into voting APC into power and now regretting their actions will not fly in Delta State.

OBOREVWORI: How Not To Glorify A 'One Chance' Governor - By Zik Gbemre

It is appalling how, in desperation to sustain its thieving hegemony over the Delta State Government since 1999, the Delta PDP had the audacity to impose the weakest, most uninformed contender, a local champion, as Governor over a state replete with accomplished men and women of immense capacity. Given this unenviable privilege, one would have expected the fortunate placeholder governor, Sheriff Oborevwori—whose only election campaign manifesto was pledging to improve on the failed leadership of Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor—to engage creative minds and individuals of proven integrity to assist him in making a difference. Rather than doing the needful, Oborevwori has worsened matters by electing to engage the same spent leaders, deadwood, and gluttons that have gained prominence in running the state down over successive administrations. The result has been a government of mediocre officeholders competing to run the state for their pockets at the detriment of the populace, under a gove...
