Police Set To Arrest River PDP Chair, Felix Obuah


Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State, Felix Obuah has been directed to honour the invitation of the Rivers State Police Command following a petition against him on the killings recorded in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local government area before, during and after the 2015 General elections.

It will be recalled that the All Progressives Congress in the state had written to the Police over the numerous killing recorded in ONELGA before the 2015 elections.

The APC in the petition also accused Felix Obuah of gun-running and sponsor of the ONELGA killings.

The Police invited all those mentioned in the petition including the PDP Chairman who challenged his invitation in court accusing former Governor Rotimi Amaechi of political witchunt.

Meanwhile, after three years of hearing, Justice Adolphus Enebeli of the High Court in Port Harcourt dismissed the application of the PDP Chairman.

Justice Enebeli in his ruling said the Police has the right within the Law to invite any individual for questioning based on a report of crime.

Speaking with newsmen Counsel to the APC in Rivers State, Emenike Ebete told our correspondent that the Police can now effect arrest on the Rivers State PDP Chairman in a bid he fails to honour their invitation.

On his part, Frank Ohiri who represented the Attorney General of Rivers State, Emma Aguma SAN refeused comment on the court’s verdict.

Other respondents in the matter filed by Felix Obuah include the Inspector General of Police, Rivers State Commissioner of Police and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi who he accused of instigating the Police against him.
