SECURTY operatives have apprehended a woman, who allegedly paid some assassins N200,000 to murder her mate, Mrs. Anetorufa Morko and son, Doutimi Eseimo, at Ayakoromo community, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, last July..
Reports from the area indicated that a combined team of Police, Department of State Services, DSS, and the Army also arrested one of the suspected killers, who narrated during interrogation how the woman from Enekorogha community hired him and others to kill.
Commending the security agencies for the arrest yesterday, a rights group, Foundation for Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Crusaders, FOHURAC, said: “Now that the suspects are in the Police net, we suggest that they be brought to book according to the laws of the land.”
National President of the group, Alaowei Cleric, said in a statement: “We have special interest in the matter and we will ensure that whoever is culpable in the matter will not go scot-free. We shall mount surveillance to ensure that justice is done in the matter.
“We will synergise with all relevant authorities for the prosecution of the case, including securing legal services for the bereaved family. Our primary concern is for justice to be done, so as to serve as a deterrence to others.”
