President Muhammadu Buhari on
Friday met the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, John
Odigie-Oyegun behind closed-door in Abuja.
The meeting came barely 24 hours
after Oyegun had in a letter accused the national leader of the APC, Bolaji
Ahmed Tinubu, of sabotaging his assignment to reconcile aggrieved members.
It was gathered that the meeting,
which held at the Presidential Villa, afforded the ruling party’s chairman the
opportunity of responding to the allegations contained in Tinubu’s letter.
Odigie-Oyegun arrived the
Presidential Villa at about 3pm and left at about 3.50pm.
Apparently aware that State House
correspondents would seek his reaction to the letter, the party chairman
stylishly avoided them.
As soon as he sighted
journalists, who were waiting for him at their operational base inside the
Council Chambers Briefing Room, Odigie-Oyegun quickly vanished from the
premises without addressing them or revealing the outcome of his meeting with
President Buhari.
