2019 BUDGET: Delta MDAS Given July Deadline To Submit Updated Version Of Budget Performance

Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Delta State have been told to submit updated version of their budget performance to the Ministry of Economic Planning by July 2018 to enable the Ministry prepare for the 2019 budget.
The directive was given by the Commissioner, Ministry of Economic Planning, Dr Kingsley Emu, during the Pre-2019 Budget meeting with Permanent Secretaries, Directors of Planning, Research and Statistics and Directors of Administration of various Ministries.
Dr Emu also at the meeting urged the Delta Development and Property Authority (DDPA) to reinvigorate it activities to enable it generates more internal generated revenue (IGR) calling on its management to review among other things the law guiding DDPA for better performance.
The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education was equally asked to increase its revenue base in the State.
In another development, the Commissioner for Economic Planning, Dr Emu has thanked the retiring Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Economic Planning, Mr. Benjamin Igo for his selfless service in the Ministry, saying at the pre 2019 Budgey meeting that he was going to miss the Permanent Secretary as he retires from service in a few months time. 
Extolling the qualities of Mr Igo, the Commissioner referred to the Permanent Secretary as a fantastic worker who had made his job very easy and wished him peace and happiness in his retirement.
Responding, the Permanent Secretary, Mr Ben Igo, thanked the Commissioner and members of staff of the Ministry for their cooperation, saying, The Civil Service had made me what I am today and I am grateful to all who worked with me in my 33 years of service.”

Ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) unveiled a 197-member council on Wednesday to lead its campaign.
